We’re off to the Loy Krathong Festival in Thailand!

Our team is excited to announce that will be cooking in Northern Thailand for the Loy Krathong Festival in collaborating with the Tourism Authority of Thailand Los Angeles Office and local eateries in Chiang Mai and Sukhothai. Vanda Asapahu, owner and chef of Ayara Thai and maker of Ayara Thai Sauces, who was a recent winner of the Specialty Food’s “My Story, My Ad” contest, will be sourcing local seasonal ingredients to create dishes that are true to the flavors of her Thai heritage but with inspirations that include her Los Angeles upbringings.

The first pop-up will take place on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Chao-Fah Restaurant in Chiang Mai for a special brunch from 10:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.  The second pop-up will feature lunch items on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Black Rice Cafe in Sukhothai from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Vanda says, “I am very excited to be cooking in Thailand. My mom is Northern Thai and Loy Krathong is my favorite festival – making this experience even more special. I’m honored to have this opportunity thanks to the Tourism Authority of Thailand Los Angeles Office, and my friends at both collaborating restaurants.”
